Introducing my new logo!!!

Thanks to the wonderful Calligrapher, Elizabeth Porcher Jones!!!! I met Elizabeth for the first time through our wonderful family friend Elmira Weston when Elizabeth was "creating" her daughter, Keenan's wedding invitations and envelopes. I say creating because you can't call her work calligraphy, it does it no justice! Elizabeth creates a true form of writing as an art, in my eyes.

After seeing the work she did on Keenan's invitations/envelopes, my mother and I just had to have the same...so we copied the Weston's...and hired her too to do our wedding invitations and envelopes! She also did the napkins, sketch of our church on our church wedding program, and return card and envelope (not pictured). She has a true talent!!!! See some of her work below. I am also happy to announce that she has asked me to take some pictures of her work for her website that will be coming soon!

I also must include that the invitations were a high priority for me while planning our wedding. Since I majored in Printing at Clemson University, and worked in the field for over 5 years, I had great expectations! The invitation was engraved (Southern Engraving) on very thick stock and the ink was a special ink match to our blue. Since we were having our wedding in Atlantic Beach, NC, I wanted it to be classic and not too formal, hence the beautiful script and the simple all caps handwriting of Elizabeth!

So with that...thank you Elizabeth!!! I just love the classic simple look of it, and of course I love the "King" too! :)

Thomas Family

This was the third photo shoot I have done for the Thomas's! Ruthann and I know each other from Clemson and they now live in Chapel Hill, NC. They were vacationing on the Isle of Palms in a magnificent house! So it worked out perfect, I hopped right on over there to take some shots of the family and the boys, (Jackson 1 yr. and Walker 9 mo.) They are so easy to take pics of, very laid back and "go with the flow" type of people. I hope that this session will be the first of many i take of them when they are in town!

The Howard Family

When I was on vacation in Atlantic Beach, NC with my family, I did this shoot of the Howard's. I met Sandy and Hallock through my sister and her husband, Bennette and Andy. They are also in the restaurant business, and own and run Amos Mosquitos. Sandy and Hallock have two little precious girls, Liza (3 1/2) and Izzi, (1yr). Thank you to Bennette for assisting me in this shoot, as the little girls just love her and she did a great job of getting the girls attention behind my back! Thank you Sandy and Hallock for asking me to take your family pictures...I wish i could put them all on the blog, they are too cute!

Carter Schumacher

This was my second session with Miss Carter! And she was a trooper! We took these shots in downtown Charleston on one of the hottest days, probably around 105 heat index, at 3pm! Not the ideal time but the only time we could get it done! I'll tell yeah, once the kids start walking, it's a different story! One of my favorites is the red door below always love simple backdrops so the face pops! Thank you Schumachers for allowing me to capture Carter again, looking forward to Schumacher #2!

Just a fun picture i took of our Adirondack chair - we actually got 2, for a wedding present from Brennen's aunt and uncle and cousins. I took this at about 7:30am in the morning, it was already 90 degrees already...i had to wait about 5 minutes just for the camera and lens to normalize in temp. This is in our backyard looking over the pond...if you look really close you can see right above the arm rest the dragonfly i captured buzzing by.

Little Miss Anna Thome - 3 months

Anna is 3 months old! Becca (Boggs) and Eric Thome called me up for her 3 month old pictures...They have just moved to Charleston from New York. We are connected in so many ways...it's a very small world to say the least. Just to start, we all went to Clemson together and have so many mutual friends!

Anna was a sweet thang! She cooperated pretty well for a 3 month old! Anna has found her hands and feet for sure! She was so cute just sliding sideways on the pillow where we were trying to prop her up!

We got some great shots of her on the bed with the wonderful light from the old Charleston windows. The first shot is my favorite and the last one is so precious...

Meet Mr. Sawyer Syndor! Isn't he a cutie pie with those big blue eyes? Jacqueline and Cas are the proud parents of Sawyer, not quite one year yet! J & C are our great friends on James Island; Cas will be a groomsman in our wedding in June. This is the second fantastic opportunity I have had to take pictures of our friends lil chile-run! I love it! Thank you thank you!!!

Interior Decorating Photos of Elizabeth Newman ~

I am sooooooo excited about a new project I completed with my friend Elizabeth Newman, a Charleston Interior Decorator! Elizabeth and I met during our Senior year in High School. We both attended Clemson University! And now after 10 years after graduation we both live in Charleston, SC. Elizabeth has the same passion as I do for BRIGHT colors and white! Everything she does is so clean and crisp! I love it!

She asked me to take some interior shots of some of her "rooms" she has decorated for her clients and of her own house. This was my first time doing "interior" shots...much different than taking pictures of 2 year olds! So please visit her website to see some of my shots. Under "about", "journal", and "portfolio".

I'm BACK!

I'm back and have moved to Charleston, SC...so this is a pretty big deal...my first BLOG in Charleston! And oh how lucky I am to have photographed Carter Schumacher for her one year old pictures! Katie and Nick, my friends, both went to Clemson and live here in Charleston too...I am really looking forward to capturing all the little ones as I start my life with Brennen on James Island!!!

Carter has got one GREAT personality...she was extremely easy to photograph as you can see!!!

Clemson vs. FSU game

This past weekend, November 7th, my family and I went to the Clemson vs FSU game at home in Death Valley...Brennen my fiance had field passes and so I caught this great photo of some of the players praying at the bench right after they ran down the hill!

Keenan and Rick's Wedding - Pawley's, SC

The first weekend in October I attended Kennan and Rick's wedding! Keenan is my mom's Goddaughter and we have been friends since we were born! Elmira, Keenan's mom, is my sister's Godmother...now that we have all that established...

I just wanted to share 5 of my favorite pictures I took as a guest, not a photographer...we had the best time Thursday-Sunday with the Weston's and Robbin's!

So the first one...Elmira (Mother of the Bride) and Keenan during a sweet moment when Elmira gave Keenan a make up bag with "Mrs. Robbins" embroidered on it! It was soooo cute to watch them just hug up on each other and laugh!

Morehead City Country Club Golf Course

My first Photo shoot of a golf course! My sister works at the MHC CC in North Carolina and i was asked to take some shots of the newly redone course. I captured one of my all time favorite pictures i have ever taken. The first one below is the 18th green at sunset, obviously! Just breath taking and surreal. Makes you want to go lie down on the green and go to sleep!

It has been a very busy time right now for me trying to get my condo on the market to sell and packing and selling things before I move to Charleston in December!!! Lot's to do!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, these pictures just make you want to be in love, let me tell you! Meet Teeny and Mike!!! Teeny and my sister, Bennette, were sorority sisters and best friends at East Carolina University...and that is how we met! Bennette will be Teeny's Matron of Honor in her wedding in January 2010! Mike and Teeny dated all through college at ECU together and I was honored when Teeny asked me to do their shoot! I had been looking forward to it for a while because, as you will see...Teeny is a beautiful and cutie pie! I think I captured her personality just perfect! Mike the character he is...just had major back surgery and you would never know it from these pics! We shot on East Carolina Campus! Love love love it! Thanks again T & M!

I don't know what I will do with myself when I move away from my condo, because I do get the best sunsets ever! I usually capture them on crisp cold days. As I am learning more about my photography style, I am also buying more equipment and software $$$$. This shoot was this past Sunday, Nov. 2nd at the train track right near my storage unit. One day I was driving out of the parking lot and saw IT! This awesome abandoned train on the track. I immediately got excited and said, "I have GOT to get some pictures of someone on this thing!" So for my birthday present from my parents I got a lesson from my friends at Wolfe Camera. And boy did we have a day! You will see when you look at beautiful Tiff, who was my model. She is also 7 months pregnant! I met Tiff through my little sister, they both went to ECU together, and Tiff was a bridesmaid in my sister's wedding. Tiff and I BOTH love the camera! My best work to date, in addition to my favorite photograph EVER, the one below. (now that is saying a lot since I have been taking pics since I can remember!)

On Saturday at Fred Fletcher park in Raleigh, Robert (dad), Amanda (mom), and Lucas (2 yrs) met me for an afternoon of family pictures. It was a very fun and laid back day, the weather was perfect and the leaves were bursting with color!

I can honestly say this is the best photo shoot in my opinion to date!

Sunday morning early I went to take some shots of Jane Bailey W. This was for her 1 year old pictures. She was the happiest little girl!

This is my favorite one...the way the bright green grass contrasts the light blue of Jane Bailey's dress is great. Her face looks like she is thinking "hmph, okay another pose!"

How classic this shot is...

I love her little foot propped up with the morning sunlight hitting the back of her head, almost looks like a halo!

Boy was she a happy one!
